Rumblings from your Rear - Edition 4 Season 13/14

To quote a Dennis Leary song (those of my generation will know it!), "I walk around in the summertime saying, 'How about this heat'". Given the fact my air conditioning was only installed on Friday afternoon (3 hours before the cool change hit), I had full cause to say this! Thank god we have MMYC where for such a minimal fee, we have access to the best beach on the Peninsula, the best view on the Peninsula, showers, toilets and BBQ facilities. Our 'best kept' secret became home for a few days! The only draw back of recent weeks has been the lack of sailing due to conditions. The wind just hasn't played ball. But now that it is, the fleets and fun has returned!

Rumblings - Mid Nationals Report (and a few other things!)

Stop the Press!

MMYC sailor Jamie Christensen scored his first ever podium at a National Championship with a brilliant 2nd place overall in the Taipan Cat rigged class!! Held at Royal Queensland Yacht Club, Jamie won the Invitation Race and then never placed lower than 4th for the whole regatta. A small but highly competitive fleet of 13 boats (with a number of ex National Champions, even an ex World Champion sailing!), Jamie was joined by Warren (Yoda) Morse and Tony Paul who finished 7th and 9th respectively, with Tony scoring a sensational 3rd in Race 1. (future member Lachlan Cameron placed 8th overall). MMYC would like to congratulate all those that attended the regatta (it was a huge effort given the travelling) but in particular a massive pat on the back for Jamie! (Warren just likes cuddles if anyone's keen!!)
