8 MMYC members went to the Laser Master State Championships hosted by Indented Head Yacht Club (IHYC) the weekend of February 14 and 15. These include 5 sailors: Rob Debenham, David Andrew (Fabio), the famous Denny Kerr, the infamous David Porritt (D1), and I, also mandated as ethnologist. Two of our muses: Liz and Amanda completed the MMYC team. After months of Spartan preparation, we were ready. We had sailing training with coaches as famous as Sarah Ogilvie, Sean Bly and Megan de Lange. We had team building with Superman and too many social activities. During those events, we learned to bottle the boat, debottle the wine, plan the race, cook curry, surf waves sailing by the Lee, do dishes, and use the mast to knock out competitors. Everything; we were ready.
Over the winter break we have added a self closing pedestrian gate to the front fence.
We will also convert the pedestrian gate next to the water tank to self closing.
Be careful not to be in the yacht club without your key and on your own as you may well be locked in.
I am a member of "TeamCruisecraft". It keeps me up to date with products for the boat. Most members are based in Qld and hard serious "fishos".
Whilst talking to their John Daffy recently, I told him about Binbrook being used for yacht racing management, not fishing.
A bit of a chat about the boat and the Taipan/Viper Nats at GLYC took place and he asked for a photo.
